Lions Club Adopts Taylors Creek!

TCE received a big surprise from the Lions Club. The President, Mr. Lou Waldrop, and members: Mr. Riley, Chett McConaughey, and Glen Jenkinson brought classroom supplies such as hand sanitizer, tissue, and paper towels for students. Mrs. Maureen Jenkinson and her first grade students received the big surprise. TCE is so thankful for the Lions Club.

Kindergarten Students Love The Lunch Choices!

Ocean Motion Cafe

The TCE Ocean Motion Cafe is making waves with four lunch choices each day. Staff and students are enjoying a choice of two hot entrees, a salad, or a grab n go sandwich. The lunch choices are color coded so students can line up based on their color choice. Students are loving the choices!! Thank you lunchroom staff for a job WHALE DONE!!

Broadcasting Tryouts - September 3rd

Would you like to be on the WTCE News? We are looking for TV personalities who love to put on a show for people. Students will read a script for the morning announcement tryouts. Students will be judged on voice quality, articulation, enthusiasm, body language, use of time, and fluent reading. Students must turn in a permission form to participate. Scripts and permission forms went home this week.

Charleston Wraps Campaign Begins!

Thank you for supporting our school by participating in the Charleston Wrap Campaign. Brochures went sent home for families to hopefully find items they would like to order. All orders are due by September 8th. Students can bring their daily prize coupon to the media center for a drawing each day. Also, a classroom is selected to have the Big Snake in their classroom for the day. The top five students who raise the most support for our school may select one the five prizes: a $100 dollar gift card, A Big Snake, a remote control truck, a boom box, or a mountain bike. All funds go directly to TCE to enhance the learning experience.

Are You Ready To Learn?

One way we show that we are ready to learn is to follow the TAYLORS CREEK RULES. I love the TCE rules. They are too cool and keep us all moving in the right direction. An important rule is to always wear your uniform. This includes the correct navy, white, or light blue polo shirt, khaki or navy shorts or pants, and a belt. If the pants have loops, students much wear a belt. It is important that 100% of our students follow the TCE rules each day.

Mystery Fish

This morning at breakfast, everyone noticed a shining fish reflecting on the wall under my office window. Dr. Moody took a picture of it. We are not sure where the fish came from except it was reflecting off of something. We think it may have been from the sun shining on Ms. Delores Brown’s cart. I love the way the fish is reflecting under the word – BELIEVE. We believe in our students and know that everyone is going to succeed this year! What a great reflection!
